in this post I share findings from the Wellness Insider publication about prayer in America. According to the 2025 Pew Research Center study, two-thirds of Americans pray regularly despite declining religious affiliation, demonstrating that spiritual practices continue to play a significant role in people’s lives, even as traditional religious structures evolve. The study revealed that African Americans, at 64%, report the highest levels of daily prayer, highlighting how cultural factors influence spiritual habits. “Women pray more than men, but men pray also, and those who do pray say that the practice helps them navigate stress, family life, and major decisions,” showcasing the universal benefits of prayer across gender lines. Prayer is also linked to lowering blood pressure, strengthening immune system responses, fostering a deeper sense of calm and peace, and even contributing to a longer and more meaningful life.
It matters so much today because prayer creates space to pause, reflect, and reconsider one’s relationship with the creator. Foster’s gratitude builds compassion and helps to reset the day, requiring nothing in return—just your presence, much like meditation. It’s been said that meditation is when we speak to our source, while prayer is when we listen. For me, prayer is a very intimate and personal experience, whereas meditation feels more universal, as people from varying beliefs and walks of life can participate together. In the silence of meditation, individuals unite in their strong desire to listen, connect with Divine wisdom, and feel in alignment with the source of all creation and one another.
As I meditate on gratitude, compassion, and peace, I remind myself of the interconnectedness of all beings. I also mentioned the Peace Intention Experiment in which crime statistics significantly improved when a critical mass of participants meditated together, demonstrating the power of collective consciousness. This shared focus not only fosters healing within communities but also ignites transformative energy that resonates far beyond the immediate participants. With this understanding, I announced I would host collective meditation sessions every Monday morning at 8 AM Central Time to harness the power of collective consciousness for positive change, inviting anyone interested to join in and contribute to this exciting movement of unity. From my BeyondHypnosis Facebook & Instagram profiles, and my YouTube channel, I hope to encourage others to reflect on their own practices and consider the possibilities we can create when we come together for a common purpose.

For those of you who have more analytical souls; Whether collective meditation changes the world directly, changes the people who participate, or both, history suggests that communities are transformed when enough individuals choose peace over fear, compassion over judgment, and presence over reaction.
