What if some of what you’ve been asking for is already arriving—but you’ve become accustomed to discounting it?

Someone gives us a compliment, and we explain it away.
Help is offered: “No, I’m fine.”
A quiet moment becomes available, and suddenly we remember everything that needs to be done.
Something good happens, and almost immediately the mind responds:
Yes, but…
This morning during Selah Monday Morning Meditation, we explored Hoda’ah (הוֹדָאָה)—a Hebrew word carrying the meanings of acknowledgment, admission and thanksgiving.
Last week, through Simchah, we asked:
What else is here?
This week we took the next step:
Now that I recognize the good that is here, am I willing to receive it?
Many of us have learned to connect receiving with deserving. Work hard enough. Sacrifice enough. Prove yourself. Accomplish enough. Then perhaps you’ve earned the right to rest, receive help, experience abundance, or simply enjoy what is good.
But life itself moves through giving and receiving.
So today’s meditation isn’t about chasing after something we don’t have. It’s an invitation to become aware of what is already being given—and notice whether we’re actually allowing ourselves to receive it.

🌿 This Week’s Selah Practice
NOTICE → PAUSE → RECEIVE
When something good finds you this week—a compliment, kindness, help, affection, opportunity, laughter, beauty or simply a peaceful moment—notice your first response.
Do you minimize it?
Deflect it?
Rush past it?
Immediately try to repay it?
Instead, pause long enough to let the experience reach you.
Todah. I receive that.
Sometimes healing begins when we stop making suffering the price of our worthiness.
The full Hoda’ah — The Practice of Receiving meditation is below. Give yourself these few minutes not simply to hear the teaching, but to experience what it feels like to receive.
